I'm Zsuzsanna, floral designer and passionate gardener behind Yard to Vase’s floral studio and expansive flower garden. My urban oasis is nestled in the Woodstock neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. Yard to Vase sprouted in the midst of a health crisis. While working in an all-consuming corporate career, I never thought of my flower garden as the space that would provide me with the essential grounding and slow-paced healing I desperately needed during a difficult time. And it is still that place.

Relying on my design background, creating flower arrangements came naturally to me and I made many for friends and neighbors over the years before opening the doors to Yard to Vase. Seeing the sheer joy, appreciation, and healing power that my flowers brought to others started a growing sense of purpose that took me beyond my own garden. What began as my healing journey turned into a mission: to reconnect others with nature’s rhythm by creating artful, organic arrangements with fresh, locally grown flowers and highlight the value of choosing sustainability in the tiniest (and grandest) gestures.

I thrive to work with sustainability in mind and - while my garden still supplies a portion of flowers I use, I am committed to sourcing flowers from small-scale flower farmers to promote their commitment to organic farming and to support other local small businesses. All Yard to Vase florals are eco-conscious, fiercely local, and follow sustainable growing practices.
